The talent spent, potential is wasted as this comedy of errors unfolds
The tears of those who cared are spent for nothing as their faces grow weary and old
The core of life inside is shaking and I’m hanging by a thread
Ruptured from the strain and broken is my innocence again

Forced to walk on shattered legs
As poisoned stares pervade my defences
Momentum shifts against my will
And sickness steals my breath

Rigged from before my conception, the tide has turned without my consent
Resigned to live within a shadow and face the fear of sudden death
Unable to form a vital union, awareness is my savage counsel
Accustomed to the sound of mourning ever-present at my funeral

As I’m travelling home
Find it hard to accept
Admit defeat, this was not me
